Port Said Governorate is one of the governorates of the Arab Republic of Egypt, located in the north of the country on the Mediterranean coast. Its capital is the city of Port Said. The governorate also includes the city of Port Fouad, which represents the Asian part of this Afro-Asian governorate extending between the continents of Africa and Asia. Port Fouad was transformed from a neighborhood to a city in Port Said Governorate by virtue of the decision of the former Prime Minister, Mr. Ahmed Nazif, No. 651 of 2010, so that the governorate would become a multi-city governorate.
